We are looking for a Mid-Level Electronic Design Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to design, develop, and validate electronic hardware for our products. You will own PCB and circuit design from concept through production, working closely with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective electronics.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits based on product requirements
Select components (microcontrollers, sensors, power management ICs, connectors, passives) based on performance, cost, availability, and lifecycle
Create schematics and PCB layouts using ECAD tools (Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or similar)
Perform power budget calculations, signal integrity analysis, and EMI/EMC considerations at the design stage
Design power supply circuits (regulators, battery management, charging circuits) as required by the product
Develop and maintain schematic libraries, footprints, and component databases
Prototyping & Validation:
Build and bring up prototype boards; debug hardware issues using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, spectrum analyzers)
Plan and execute functional testing, stress testing, and environmental testing (temperature, humidity, vibration) on hardware
Coordinate and support EMI/EMC pre-compliance and compliance testing (FCC, CE, etc.)
Analyze test failures and iterate on circuit/layout design; document root causes and fixes
Cross-Functional Integration:
Collaborate with mechanical engineering on PCB form factor, connector placement, mounting, and thermal considerations
Work closely with firmware engineers to define hardware interfaces, communication protocols, and register-level requirements
Support firmware bring-up by providing hardware documentation, schematics, and debug access (test points, JTAG/SWD headers)
Coordinate with PCB fabricators and assembly houses on DFM/DFA reviews, panelization, and assembly requirements
Production Support & Documentation:
Prepare and maintain technical documentation: schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, and test procedures
Manage engineering change orders (ECO) and engineering change notices (ECN) through the product lifecycle
Support production ramp-up, troubleshoot hardware issues on the line, and drive root-cause analysis for field returns/failures
Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives (component substitution, design simplification) post-launch
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field
2–5 years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design, preferably in consumer electronics, IoT, or embedded hardware products
Strong proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium Designer, KiCad, or equivalent)
Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design fundamentals
Experience with microcontroller-based designs and common communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN)
Practical experience with power supply design (linear/switching regulators, battery charging circuits)
Hands-on experience using lab equipment for hardware debug and validation
Working knowledge of EMI/EMC design principles and PCB layout best practices for signal integrity
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Effective communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally with mechanical, firmware, and supply chain teams
Preferred/Bonus Skills:
Experience with wireless communication modules (Wi-Fi, BLE, LoRa, cellular)
Familiarity with high-speed digital design or RF layout
Experience with battery-powered/low-power design techniques
Exposure to regulatory compliance testing (FCC, CE, IC) and certification processes
Experience with PLM/PDM tools for design version control
Track record of taking at least one product through full mass production
What We Offer:
Opportunity to own end-to-end electronic hardware design for real, shipping products
Close collaboration with a multidisciplinary hardware team
