The measuring device features a measuring beam that serves as the base for measurement and a frame that presses the beam against the rail being measured. It is designed to be isolated between the two rails. Both the guiding rollers, which provide the base on the measuring beam, and the roller used for measuring the versine, make contact with the rail 14 mm below the rail crown. The device is capable of measuring both the inner and outer rails of the track from either direction, making it suitable for measuring curves on both the concave and convex sides. It is also designed to measure rails with a minimum curve radius of 15 meters.
